About Us...

The EWB-SCFL chapter is currently organized into the following committees: Executive Committee, Fundraising Committee, and Website Committee.

Executive Committee

The Executive committee manages the affairs of the Chapter. The positions are elected annually and each position’s responsibilities are detailed in the Constitution and Bylaws.

President – Brooksie Barton, P.E.
Brooksie Barton graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. She is a licensed professional engineer and specializes in transportation design. Brooksie is currently Airport Engineer for AECOM Transportation in Tampa, Florida, and has over seven years of experience in design, permitting, and project management. She is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and Louisiana. Her volunteer activities include several projects with the Girl Scouts and the Future City competition. She has a passion for sharing engineering with others. She is also a member of ASCE, ITE, and serves as the President of the Tampa Bay Society of Women Engineers. Brooksie is married and the mother of two boys.

Vice President – Rachel Jones., E.I.
Rachel Jones graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Engineering and she is currently pursuing a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at the same institution. Currently employed at AECOM in downtown Orlando, she specializes in wastewater treatment design and has experience in permitting and construction services. She is a member of ASCE and volunteers locally with Seminole County Watershed Action Volunteers (WAV) and Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) in an effort to spread the word about science, math, and engineering to young females in the area.

Secretary – Andrew Eiland, Jr., P.E.
Andy Eiland graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. While attending college he was active in the American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter and captained the 2003 Concrete Canoe Team. He is currently employed by WilsonMiller, Inc. in Sarasota, Florida, where his work includes all aspect of site and underground utility design for both commercial and residential sites as well as roadway projects. He and his wife of five years (his high school sweetheart) are active in their local church and since 2005 Andy has been a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers Suncoast Branch. He is a member of the ASCE Suncoast Branch’s West Point Bridge Design Contest committee which seeks to encourage middle and high school students to pursue careers in engineering and the sciences. He also chairs the ASCE Florida Section’s committee for the same outreach.

Treasurer – Jamie Docherty

Past President – Aaron Zambo, P.E., LEED AP
Aaron Zambo graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Business in Environmental Management at Florida Atlantic University. He has over eight years of engineering design, project management, and supervisory experience, primarily relating to water resources and civil infrastructure. Besides having substantial experience in construction management, environmental permitting, and solid waste design, he has a strong background in geotechnical engineering and risk management. He has written or contributed to eight papers and presentations on the topic of sustainable engineering practice.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising committee plans and organizing all chapter and project specific fundraising events. The Coordinator responsibilities are detailed in the Constitution and Bylaws.

Website Committee

The Website Committee is responsible for designing and maintaining the chapter website. The webmaster duties are included in the Constitution and Bylaws.

Webmaster – Jean Carlos Rosario-Montalvo, E.I., LEED AP
